    Screen Glitch

Every time I start up my computer, there is always little glitches on the screen. by glitches I mean small shapes/colors/etc screwing up the screen. Then about 10 min after that the computer wont respond to anything at all. I cant move the mouse or type anything etc. Eventually the computer crashes. is there anyway to fix this problem?

Did this just start happening? Any new hardware or software?

    First off change this setting:

rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart

Then: look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details. Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

Have you had any blue screen crashes?
With error codes such as: Error code 0000000a = "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
    along with a Memory Dump?

Those Event errors seem to point to Drivers & or Hardware.
The ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) especially.

Check the Device Manager: RT click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager for any "!"
    Especially under Display Adapters.

Also go to start | run | dxdiag
Check under display for any problems. Also post your Device (Graphics Card) ID as well as the Driver.

Also some of the other Events were questioning Update levels: Are you running SP2 & all Critical Updates?

Also what is the make & model of your computer?

Recently had a blue screen crash, with a Memory Dump.

Checked Device Manager, found no "!" at all.

There were no display problems. I have a RADEON 9800 PRO graphics card, and ID is - {D7B71EE2-0D08-11CF-756B-0820A1C2B35} and driver is - ati2dvag.dll

I have SP2, and the make/model of my computer is - HP Pavilion a250n.

    1) Download and install the
    Debugging Tools from Microsoft
    2) Download and install this
    debugwiz
    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to your MEMORY.DMP
    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document post it back to this thread.

When you chose Browse from the WIZ was not the last item MEMORY.DMP?

If not do a Search from the Start Menu (type in) .dmp

Save the path & then type this into the WIZ.

    Any .dmp file at all?
    mini.dmp? (for example)

    If not look for this:
    Drwtsn32.log
