I was wondering if someone could help me wiht this problem. I recently recieved an HP computer with all the company filled stuff on it and it had xp home on it. I have an XP Pro cd from my other computer. I tried installing it on my new hp but am having trouble. The HP has 2 partitions. Would this be part of the problem? I am not able to get online and there are some things missing when I installed the XP Pro. For one thing, the Stand By button isnt there anymore on the shutdown menu. If anyone could help me get connected to the internet with this upgrade that would be great . Thank s

Is your XP Pro CD a full licence? Also did you run the installation as an ugrade?

yes it is a full license, no i tried running new installation because i wanted to delete everything on the HD. But I only installed it to the C Drive. There is still a partition called Hp Recovery on the D Drive that is still intact, Should I have deleted this partition?
