Please can someone help?I am trying to put a load of pictures onto floppy disk but every time i try it tells me to format disk and when i follow instructions to do this it will not allow it to happen.Can i store pictures on a spare floppy? I would be grateful if someone could advise me on this problem.

Check the flat cable at back of floppy-disk. Could have been connected wrong way round or just become loose.

Sure you can put pics on floppies.

To format a floppy just right click A: under My Computer & choose "format" then "quick format".

What are the exact error messages you are getting?

it just keeps telling me that it was unable to format the disk and i am scared that i will loose all the software on pc if i mess too much.
Got loads of pics i want to save and dont want to use loads of cd's to save them.

You are just trying to format a floppy in drive A: correct? (This will not endanger the software on your PC).

Simply because of disk size you can get a load of pictures on a few CD's. Whereas you will need a ton of floppies per load of pictures.

But that's beside the point that you cannot format a floppy disk.

What types of disk are they? Have you ever formatted a floppy before?

Have you made sure the disk is write enabled,by that i mean the little black square in the corner of the disk is in the down position blocking the view through the hole.
