Check the application log to see how long after ccEvtmgr loads that the next service loads. That will tell you how long ccEvtmgr took to start. It should only be a matter of seconds. If it is minutes, then this is your problem, or part of it.

This would occur after logon but before you get a desktop and is called by
    HKLM RUN[ccApp] "C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"

You can verify this by temporarily uninstalling NAV or SAV and rebooting and the desktop should load right after logon. Reinstalling SAV would cause the symptoms to return. This is a necessary SAV service and cannot be disabled.

Unfortunately I have not found a resolution for this yet.

Hello Spud, to view the application log please right click My Computer and select manage. Now expand the Event Viewer item and click Application. HTH

cheers bear i found that ok the next thing to be installed after ccEvtmng is usually Virtual C D u4 Security Service (SDK- Version) i have looked back through the listings in applications and this seems to be the next thing installed and at the longest i could find was 5 seconds but more than once was the same second as the event manager
    any ideas!!
