    3D device problems

This is my first time on this website, but i was hoping that someone would be able to help me. I just installed Everquest on my computer, and now it says that it cannot locate a 3D device. I was thinking that meant activex, but now I am thinking otherwise...What do I need to do?

    welcome to DAL

go to Start | Run | dxdiag

under the general tab what version of DirectX do you have?

under the display tab what does it say about 3D Acceleration?

also what is listed as your display device? & what as driver?

It says I have directx 9.0. Apparently it also says that 3d acceleration is not available(possibly 3d drivers cant be installed?) The device is ATI technologies...3D rage II PCI..and the main driver is atiraged.dll

Check the Device Manager: RT click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager for any "!" under either the Display Adapter tab or Sound, video, & game controllers tab.

If no yellow "!" let us know what is listed under Display Adapter.

Also click the 3D Rage II PCI (if that is listed) & try to Update Drivers.

If nothing there go to Windows Updates via Start | All Programs & choose the custom search option to see if there are any drivers listed there.

Did you try to right click: ATI technologies inc. 3D rage pci II

    & then click: Update Drivers?

& if nothing is found there: did you try Windows Update?

Just had a look at the ATI webpage, and as it looks like there is no more driver support for the Rage 3D II PCI.
What operating system are u running ?
