computer crashes - tower beeps continuously

Hi, I'm hoping somebody has an idea of how to fix this. Lately, my computer has been crashing seemingly randomly, and then proceeds to emit beeps from within the tower until I get up to restart it. The crashes seem random, as they occur even at night, when the computer is sitting here not in use. The tower then beeps until it is restarted. I had originally thought this was caused by a loss of memory, as this problem occured almost everytime i would try and rip a CD with iTunes. Now, however, it happens even when i simply run firefox, or even let the computer sit with nothing in particular running.

i dont know if this is at all relevent, but my pc did that a few months back, when i replaced the graphics card the problem went away. ( see post, computer freezing)

my pc was working fine, then all of a sudden it would freeze and continually beep untill i restarted it, i got evesham out to repair it, and they said the graphics card fan had jammed and caused the graphics card fan to overheat and fail which was causing the crashes.
the system was beeping as a warning presumably because it was overheating?????? ( or so he said anyway!!!)
can u open the side of ur pc and see if the lil fans going round? if it is im all outa ideas

Also: look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details. Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

i haven't seen a correlation with the crashes and any event errors so far. i also submitted a hijack this log, and owen said it was clean. so i don't know what else it could be....

Can you describe the beeps? Is there any pattern? 1 long 3 short etc. ???

Just to clarify: these beeps from the tower come after a freeze & before you restart?

Or are the beeps coming from an atempt to restart?

i'm pretty sure this it goes 1 long 1 short. and the beeps come after a freeze/crash and before a restart.

Just to clarify: when this freezes it does not restart? In other words you have to manually shut it down?

I looked at Cyberpower Computers hoping to find a manual but I need to know the exact model. Do you see it there? Or know the precise name?

Your BIOS beep codes: Name Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG:
    AWARD BIOS BEEP CODES

The following are Award BIOS Beep Codes that can occur. However because of the wide variety of different computer manufacturers with this BIOS the beep codes may vary.
    Beep Code Description
1 long, 2 short Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information
    Any other beep(s) RAM problem.

If any other correctable hardware issues the BIOS will display a message.
It does seem like a bad vid card or RAM.

You can try this RAM test:
