For the last two weeks windows xp is taking upto 4 or 5 times before it will boot up. Has any one had this problem before? When i switch my pc on all it shows is the pentium 4 symbol the hard disk will spin but windows will not boot up. Until the forth go.Can some one please help me please?

Do you get a BIOS Post?
Can you get into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly after start-up)?

Did something happen two weeks ago that would have caused issues?
If you can boot into safe you can check the Event Viewer for a date and issues.

If all else fails boot your cd & do a repair install:
