I recently purchased a 250 gig western digital drive from Sam's Club for 127 bucks. I thought the price was too good to pass up. I got home, rip open my box, installed the drive as a master on unoccupied controler, fired up the box only to discover it wasn't reconized by either the bios or windows.
I know, the bios isn't set up to read drvies larger that 137gb, but there should be and update for the BIOS out there somewhere, but I can't find one.
I'm running a Compaq 7998 1gig Athelon 384mb ram on XP with SP2. It runs Phoenix 4.0 release 6.0.C. Does anyone know where I can find an update for my BIOS or do you have any other ideas about how I can get this drive up and running.
