    Problem installing printer

I have a Lexmark X1180 al in one printer scanner coppier which I bought new 3 months ago. Up until yesterday I used it with a Siemens Amilo Pro lap top without any problems. My lap top was also only 3 months old and it crashed yesterday. I took it back to the shop today and as it was only 3 months old they just swapped it for another one. It's not exactly the same model, but it is from the same series. I've now got the new lap top up and running, but the Lexmark simply will not install. It worked fine with the old lap top, but with this new one it wont load. I insert the disk into the drive.(there's only one copy drive on the lap top, so it must be the right one.) I then follow the on screen installation instructions up to a point where it says 'No printer is connected' and then I can get no further. Does anyone know why this might be hapening and what I can do to install it? replies please to john.n151261@tiscali.co.uk
    Thank you.

    Just browsing the manual:

    http://www.lexmark.com/publications/...100/index.html

Important! Click Cancel on all Add New Hardware screens.

The software may not be installed properly. Try the following:
1 Right-click the My computer icon.
Windows XP users, click Start to access the My computer icon.
    2 Click Properties.
3 If you are using Windows 98 or Windows Me, click the Device
    Manager tab.
If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, select the

5 Insert the CD, and install the software again. Do not restart the
