    Does this happen on all accounts?

    Try creating a new Admin account & see if it works.

    Is this Home or Pro? SP1 or 2?

    Can you describe the exact process?

    "Everytime i restart my pc and try to logon on windows automatically logs me off and i have to keep using system restore all the time to get my pc working again ."

    You click to logon & then? Does it reboot into safe mode? Where are you getting System Restore? When you choose System Restore it then lets you logon or does it bypass the logon screen?

    Have you checked your settings under Control Panel | User Accounts | Change the way Users Logon?

    Did this just start happening? Any other changes that might have coincided with this?

    I have a Compaq Persario S4150UK

    Its Windows XP Home Edition and its SP1

    And everytime i try to logon it just says loading personal settings, automically logs off me and this recently started i have had this problem before, i have also tried safe mode but it still logs me off.

    And when i use system restore it some how manages to bypass the logon screen

    If you want to bypass the Welcome screen, try this:

    From Start>Run type in

    control userpasswords2

    then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this
    computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' -
    delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your
    account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out
    and then reboot your system.

    Or you can use Tweak UI:

    You can download TweakUI from
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../powertoys.asp and when
    installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go to
    Logon>Autologon.

    A User Logon Request Is Rejected Without Any Messages

    I have found that viruses sometimes modify the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    "Userinit" = "C:\WINNT\system32\userinit.exe,"

    and change it to

    "Userinit" = "C:\WINNT\system32\<some other virus exe>.exe,"

    This will cause the issue that you are having. To fix it, simply
    change it back.

    [B] Hi i've had a problem that was the same before, i just started it up with the last giood configuration setting and if that doesn't work start it up with safe mode with command prompt and delete the document and settings folder for all users and then restart the computer that should sort out the problem.
