    XP Upsetting My USB

Evening all, Very confused novice who updated to sp2 and has lost all 4 usb ports for certain functions, all 4 will play sound and power speakers but won't accept my camera or phone and they did before the update, the pc says the devices are working ok but the camera and phone setup programmes can't find devices that are plugged in, i hope this makes sense but its really hard to explain a problem to a blank page, i have my pc specs on a clipboard if they are useful ?? Thank you.

You may need to remove & then reinstall those programs.

What are they in particular? They may have issues with SP2 but most likely reinstallation will work.

Also if you run a 3rd party firewall turn off the SP2 wall.

I have tried several installs and removals, the phone is a motorola v3 with a motorola install disc and my camera is a polaroid with its own disc, i don't run the sp2 firewall because i've got zone alarm.

just as a test can you use the XP camera wizard with your camera?

start | all programs | accessories | camera wizard

Just to clarify: everything was ok before sp2?

In device manager the devices are listed & working?
