    Sound in On-line Games

I recently changed over to Windows XP (SP2) on one of my computers. The others are running Windows 98SE. The Win 98 computers have sound in ALL on-line games, but in most of these, I get no audio in XP. The problem seems to be confined to those games/sites which use Java. I have tried re-installing Java. On their tech's advise, I un-installed it & installed another version of Java, which did not help. One of the tech's from the unit's manufacturer suggested un-installing the audio drivers, then re-installing them. This was done, but did not help. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone have any other suggestions? The computer is a media center Medion Titanium MD 8084 XL, the processor is a P4, 512k ram and Windows XP (SP2).

The sound card is a Realtek AC97. Thanks for any help you can give.

Where did you get the audio drivers you've tried?

Have you checked the settings via: Sounds & Audio Devices?

Have you checked the games for XP compatibility? All Programs | Accessories | Program Compatibility Wizard

Have you checked your settings under the SP2 Security Center?

Have you check your Java settings? via Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
