sygate seems to be a good firewall im using that, i dont get any problems with it.

I use Outpost with no problem...
Anyway what happens with just the XP firewall active?
It covers incoming traffic; just not outbound.
It would be interesting to see if any wall will work or if the problem is elsewhere.

DJDK, the firewall you gave me blocks everything. i cant even get on the internet. how do i set it to work? i am on aol.

open the program so you see the arrows by the clock, you should be asked somthing like, do you wish to allow xxxxxxxxxxxx program access the internet, click yes if u kno wot it is

"program name" (programname.exe) is trying to connect to www.website.com (123.456.789.012) using port 80 (HTTP - World Wide Web). Do you want to allow this program to acess the network?

mine doesnt come up when i try to get on the internet, it does with other programs but not AOL dialler. can i like manually add the programs to the firewall?

there should be a full list of aplications when you click the applications tab.
