Hi I wanted to knwo if anyone could help me out .

Ok i use an external drive to hold all my backup installers , all the things I use while online .. Ok the thing is I have started to have BUFFER OVER RUN problems , this is normaly when running explorer. I have never come across this problem and when I try to serch for a solution all i find is information that is beyone me.

Is the Buffer overrun due to a virus ? could my back ups be infected ? if i pull the batry from the motherboerd will it fix my problems ? Or id my pc totaly messed up , Pls help me , I run xp.

I have reinstalled xp four times now but still have the same problem.

A good general suggestion is to go to Windows Update & get all Critical Updates.
