    pc will not start up

My pc will not start up at all and i cant get it to load the pc comes on and i get this error message

we apoligese for any inconvenience but windows did not start sucessfully a resent hardware and software change
    may have cause this.
if your computer stooped responding restarted unexpectedly or was automattically shut down to protect your files
files/folders choose last known good configuration to revert to the most resent settings that worked
if a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or restart button was
or if u arent sure what caused the problem choose

    1) safe mode
    2) safe mode with networking
    3)safe mode with command prompt
    4) last known good configuration
( your most recent settings that worked )

    start windows normally
    choose one

when i choose one of the above it seems like the pc is about to start and then it just loads back to the same
    page as before

It may be worth getting hold of your installation as it could also be that windows is damaged, and you may have to repair the installation.
Had you actually made any hardware or software changes prior to the error?? Did you update any drivers, install a servie pack etc??

Run your installation disk, when it comes up you will see something about repair on the bottom right of screen, not much help but it might do the trick.

The above ideas were to boot from your xp cd.

As soon as you power on the pc insert your xp cd.

After your BIOS Posts your machine should boot from the cd.

If not check settings in the BIOS to make sure it is set to first boot from cd.

The cd will offer you the option to do a repair install:
