    @i need help:

    Did u make sure that the external display support is activated in Windows XP ? Have a closer look at the display properties - advanced settings and check if there´s an option to activate multidisplay mode or enable tv support

    I have my 36" sony trinitron as a Monitor in the lounge We use it as the home server

    Anyway, the settings we have are:

    Display properties>Settings>800x600 pixels-colour quality medium 16 bit
    Advanced tab> Normal size (96 DPI)
    Adapter tab> NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200
    Monitor tab> screen refresh rate 60 Hertz
    GeForce2 tab> (yours will be different as you have a different card):
    Signal format> I/PAL
    Video output format> S-Video-Out

    Not sure if that will help - I don't really know enough about this type of setup except that ours works

    Just downloaded that frigging Tecra 8200 manual and had a look.

    After reading the configuration part for tvout i have a question:

    On page 59 it says to connect one end of the RCA cable to a video adapter shipped with the computer. So as i see it the connection has to be like:

    Cable from Television into the Video Port Adapter
    Cable from the Composite Out on the back of the laptop to the Video Port Adapter

    Now the question is, do u use this adapter ?? As without it it won´t work

    You usually have to have a scan converter to use a TV as a computer monitor. They can be purchased at radio shack or CompUSA.
