    Graphics card problem...

    ok, here is the problem.
everytime i try to play a game, the sound doesnt work and i re-installed the sound driver and then the sound works again but after a few days, the sound doesnt work again when i go into games so i have to keep repeating this process...what is wrong? (i think its the graphic card)

and also, when i play games, it freezes on me and sometimes the game just goes black and i have to restart and when i reboot and get to the destop, it has the error thing saying that theres something wrong with my graphics card

p.s. i opened up my computer to check if it was put in properley and it was)
    i have a FX5600LE 128mb
    768mb/DDR 400 ram
    3.0 p4 processor

To uninstall your graphics card drivers:

Boot the computer to Safe Mode options (F8 after BIOS) & choose: "Enable VGA Mode".
Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
Find your graphics card driver package & uninstall.
While in Control Panel, go to System, Hardware, Device Manager.
Expand (Click +) besides Display Adapter,
Right Click your graphics card, Choose Properties, Drivers, uninstall.
Reboot the Machine - It will re-detect your graphics card
    Re-install the drivers.

The status & files of DirectX can be found via Start > Run > dxdiag

You can get DirectX 9.0 here:

    DirectX 9.0

I believe it will just overwrite any earlier version.

Can you post the full error messages you get after crash.

Also: look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. click error line for details. post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

    they are listed by time.

can you relate to a time when "the game just goes black"

or force the error to occur again & note the time & recheck.

or look for a Source that relates to your graphics card.

you will probably see that alot of the errors are repetitive.
