With XP you get 2 choices of themes (XP and Classic)...

At the moment i have it on classic, well i have always had it on classic... I want to change it back to the XP style but when i try to do this the screen just locks up and i have to reboot the pc???

Is this problem common??

Are you making this change via Control Panel > Display > Themes?

Try it again noting the "time"
Then afterwards look in your Event Viewer for errors at that "time".

rt. click my computer then click manage then event viewer
open the system as well as the application tabs
note the Source & Event ID

It wouldn't hurt to run chkdsk by going to Start > Run > cmd

in the new window type chkdsk/f
when prompted to run on next boot choose Y & reboot.
this will check & fix any disk errors on boot

In the end i clicked on C:> Properties > Advanced > Performance. I then selected adjust for best apperance and this has done the trick!!!
