heres what happened-i just put together my new computer yesterday and have been playing some games and stuff. so today i decided to download some updated drivers for my motherboard, and i think that may have been the reason why when i was shutting down a game, windows crashed. i think it said something about missing .dll. then when i restarted, windows would not start, and i got a message saying that i needed to repair files using the windows cd. so i rebooted from the windows disk and tried reinstalling using new windows files. after completion it said the partition was corrupted and windows could not be installed. so then i tried to format the partition first and got "setup was unable to format the partition. the disk may be damaged."
so i am at a loss for what to do. i just hope my brand new hard drive isnt totally screwed. is it?
