Unhappy Hard Drive Interfering with DVD burner

I am converting all my super 8 home movies to DVD's and am having problems with my new hard drive and dvd burner. The dvd burner works if I burn using files from my C drive, but hangs when I try and burn using files from my newly installed D drive. The error message it give me is "WRITER ERROR [UNIT ATTENTION (POWER ON, RESET, OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURRED)]".

I have tried many things and am at my wits end. Any suggestions?

    Hey Nessie, Welcome to D-A-L

    What DVD burner is it?

In addition to that, what, if you know, chain is the D drive on versus the DVD Burner?

My burner is a "DVD+/-RW 16X SONY DW-D22A " and my D drive is a slave to my C drive.

Hi, checkout the thread below, it seems pretty similar. Basically it may be worth trying to update the firmware (see Sony's site) and maybe even changing the DMA setting.
