When opening the attachment I receive the message ' SELECTED FILE IS NOT A VALID PHOTO FILE. THE PHOTO COULD NOT BE READ'
The sender tells me the photo's were scanned in using 'Microsoft Document Imager ' Can anyone help .

Open file explorer, go to view/options, if there is a tick in "hide file extensions of known file types" then remove the tick. After doing this, you will see that all the filenames in your file explorer (Windows Explorer) will be shown along with its extension (for example, mahi.txt or command.exe etc.).

Now see if the file sent by your sender is having an extension jpg or jpeg? If there is no extension shown, then manually add an extension (right click, select rename and add extension that is if it is shown as "name of sender" then rename as "name.jpg or name.jpeg". Now see if the file type symbol changes and appears similar to other jpg files. If yes, your problem is solved. If no, then I think your sender is sending the file in other format or jpg format is not defined on your machine.
