somehow the only log on box I get is for the administrator, yet when I attempt to log on it says the administrator is disabled. as that is the only option I cant get windows to load, so I am completely locked out. Does any kind soul out there know of some way to get the system up and running. Iwould appreciate any help. ps Im not exactly a pro at this, rather the reverse.

Try Logging on in Safe Mode as administrator.
You are always supposed to be able to log on as administrator in Safe Mode
even if the Administrator account it disabled.
If that works, re-enable the account.
