Computer crashes when working
Hi
I have really strange problem, I´ve bought and built my own PC
six months ago and every thing has worked great.
Until a month ago when the computer started to crash
when i began recording sounds through my new mic.
After that first crash every program i worked in began crashing.
And the crashes come at different times. When for example
playing Far Cry (game) it works fine, no problem, the next time
i play, it can just crash at any time. The same thing with programs like
Macromedia Flash and Adobe Premiere everythings fine´, then suddenly
it just strikes. Another crash. Ivé noticed that when rendering it
crashes more often. And sometimes when i just leave the PC on
for a long while without any programs going, the same thing happens.
And thats with or without internet connection.
Ive tried to sort some problems out that doesnt affect the crashes.
*CPU is not overheated.
*No virus / formatted drive and fresh install of XP right now.
(still same problems)
*Have placed the RAM´s on different locations (1st,2nd, 3rd) no difference.
PC specifications
ASUS A7v600-X
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256
1080 RAM (3 different types of ram)
U need any more info, please let me know..
The PC works great now, but anytime now, it will crash again....
Have a nice day//Daniel

when you say you have 3 different types of memory, do you mean diff speeds?? i know some boards will only allow you to have 2 or 3 memory blocks of the same type.
worth checking your board spec.

Thanks for the tip.
Ive removed one of my 256 mb ram memorys now and
i have tried rendering and recording film/audio to it.
Still hasnt crashed!!, the things is I tried this operation once before
with taking out certain RAM´s that are not of the same type.
But the problem remained. My 3 memorys are
Samsung 256 MB
Vdata 256 MB
Kdata 512 MB
According to my motherboard manual only one of these
is guarenteed to work. But the thing is it did work with all of them
for about 6 months.
Thanks for the tip anyway. Im pretty sure the crashes will return
Ill post again if thats the case...
