Help, Save Picture As command doesn't work?

I need some help here. My "Save Picture As..." command isn't working anymore. It save any graphic files as an ART file or BMP that renders the file completely useless to me. I don't know what to do, since I rely on that command. Anyone know anything that could help me?

Clear all your temporary internet files.

    Read this:

Internet Explorer Saves Images As Bitmaps (.bmp Files)

Yay! That did it. It was a downloaded file that was "unknown". Thank you sooo much.

Oops, I think I spoke too soon. I successfully saved a copy of the "Post Reply" button, but I went somewhere else and it's giving me the same problem. ??? Now it wont even let me save the "Post Reply" button. Would you suggest deleting everything in the downloaded folder?

you have no choices in the file box?

can you manualy change the extension?

did you clear all your IE temps?

I always delete my temps and cookies, etc. It only gives me the choices of ART or BMP files which make the file useless. When I deleted the "unknown" download I immediately saved the "post reply" button with no trouble, but when I went to another website and tried it gave me the same problem and when I came back here, I can't save the button anymore either.

Everything I see points to IE File "overload".

This happens if the indexes of the Temporary Internet Files get
overloaded. In Control Panel - Internet Options, in the temporary
Internet files section on the General page, click 'Delete files'. Then
I suggest click Settings and reduce the space allowed - 50 MB is
probably generous, and on big drives it tends to choose by default a
setting that is so high that this overload happens

    will keep searching

I always delete my Temp files, so I doubt that is the problem. The space was over 3000 MB, so I will lower it to 50 and see what happens.

Ok, I was able to save a picture banner, so let me test it by going somewhere else. Maybe it was just an overload. I have a 120 Gig Drive.

Sometimes, if you right-click an image in Internet Explorer and choose Save
Picture As, the list of available types in the Save As dialog box will not
contain .jpg, .gif, or .png. It will either contain both .bmp and .art, or only
    .bmp.

Here are two procedures that may fix this problem.

To empty your Temporary Internet Files cache
    1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
    2. On the General tab, click Delete Files.

To turn off graphic compression in the AOL client
    1. Go to Preferences in AOL.
    2. Click Internet properties (or WWW in some versions).
    3. Click Web Graphics.
    4. Clear Never compress graphics (or Use compressed graphics in some versions).

    If that doesn't help:

    Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg - For Content Type, it should read image/jpeg.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpeg - For content Type, it should read: image/jpeg.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gif - For Content Type is should read image/gif.
If it already set to that, go to Start, Run and type in: regsvr32 /i
    shdocvw.dll, regsvr32 /i shdoc401.dll,regsvr32 webvw.dll and regsvr32
    thumbvw.dll (for upgrades). and "regsvr32 /i mshtml"
    NOTE: For Windows XP: "Regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll" and "Regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll"
should fix the "Content Type" values and former command enables the Windows
    Picture and Fax Viewer.
