Re: will not boot?
SM Bus Controler: System Management Bus - (SMBus, SMB) A simple two-wire bus used for communication with low-bandwidth devices on a motherboard, especially power related chips such as a laptop's rechargeable battery subsystem (see Smart Battery Data). Other devices might include temperature sensors and lid switches.
A device can provide manufacturer information, indicate its model/part number, save its state for a suspend event, report different types of errors, accept control parameters, and return status. The SMB is generally not user configurable or accessible.

PXE-E61 Media test failure Check cables: This error will occur when the PC is trying to perform a network boot, with the media disconnected. You can disable this feature in the bios.
You should be able to set your options to something like this:
1st Boot Device - IDE CD-ROM
2nd Boot Device - Floppy/Removable Storage
3rd Boot Device - IDE0
Try Other Boot Device - No

OK---When I was trying to get the PC to boot a few days ago I kept pressing the delete key. I entered setup---The bios--- anyway I looked for anything that said Boot. So in advanced the last item is---onboard lan boot rom: I enabled it. In an attemp to get it to Boot. I just when in the bios and disabled it. The problem is solved. THANKS
I notice my icons on the desk top are much smaller now. Does that have anthing to do with the chang I made in the Bios?

You can right click an empty space of the desktop & choose properties - appearance - effects & check use large icons.
See if this is what you want. There are additional settings to alter but perhaps this will restore what you had.

Yes I know. I was just wondering if me fooling around with that setting had something to do with it. Thanks for all your help. I'm going to put it on line tonight when I get home and lets see what happens. Thanks again-----It's been fun.

I don't see how anything you did in the BIOS would effect the appearance of the OS. I would guess it had more to do with the re-installing that you've been doing.
Anyway good luck
Let us know how it goes

2. Installed--- My server- CompuServe
3. Installed---Live updates for Norton Internet Security 2005
4. Reg. Windows with microsoft
5. Installed---All the windows updates including service pac 2 and it's updates.
What else do I need to do?
I'm also looking for a free decoder for windows meda player to play DVD's
Thanks so much.

The (-) sign just means you have the Network Adapters tab "open".
Click the (-) & it should "close" & become (+).
Looks like you're all set to me.
Congrats!
As to the decoder it would probably be best to start a new thread in the
"Other Software" Section:
Post any issues here relating to software utilities like mp3 players, encoders, file compression etc.
