Screen blanks and PC reboots when connecting to Internet - DSL
I Have an MSI K7N2-IL2 Motherboad with nVidia GeForce
FX5900 Ultra w/ Athlon 3000+ processor 512 MB ram
running ,XP Home SP2
After Installation of SAGEM F@st 800/840 USB modem and
connected to the internet for about 20 minutes. After that I got a blank
screen and window restarted.
Everytime user clicks on on the connect it reboots whenever it gets
to 'verifying Username and password' .
Updating drivers for modem and graphics card provided no solution.
Sagem Suggested the following -which still does not help:
"Unexpected reboot of the PC while surfing on the
Internet ?
Problem seen on some PCs with Windows 2000 and GeForce2MX
graphic card ...In the CONFIG tab select "BULK" mode and
click on OK to restart the modem."
A normal ADSL modem using the Ethernet port for
connection instead of USB never worked either:
-Blank Screeen then reboot.
tried a normal ADSL modem using the Ethernet port for
connection instead of USB and the same thing
happens -Blank Screeen then reboot.
Analysing the dump file created the bug check came to this
Bug Check 0xD1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bug check has a value
of 0x000000D1. This indicates that a kernel-mode driver
attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL
that was too high.
::CAUSE::
A driver tried to access an address that is pageable (or
that is completely invalid) while the IRQL was too high.
This bug check is usually caused by drivers that have
used improper addresses.
Any Help appreciated
Regards Cyphas
