I am sure this is a problem that tons of people have so I apologize for any repetitive info you might be giving me.

I am having a problem with about:blank hijacking my homepage. I have an anti-spyware program on my computer as well as a firewall and virus scan (all from McAfee - if that makes any difference I don't know). I have found that if I turn up my security settings in internet options I can "sometimes" avoid the about:blank page. That does not always work though. My other issue is that we have another email acct from Hotmail that I cannot get into. If my security is set too high, then I try to open a message and get a blank page with no error messages. If I turn down my security, then about:blank pops up instead of going to the hotmail message I wanted to read.

Clearly from my message I am not incredibly computer savvy. I do understand the basics and would really appreciate any help you could give met to resolve this problem. I would also like to know where I should have my security and privacy settings at. What is a safe level? I had the about:blank problem on my computer before I downloaded the McAfee anti-spyware stuff onto my computer. Is that why the program has not gotten rid of about:blank?
