    Task Manager Problem

I have a problem with my task manager, i can cntrl alt delete it up, but it simply flashes for a brief second, enough for me to speedily click the top program MAYBe and end it, but this is a very annoying process as i cannot access any processes. I have tried right clicking on the taskbar but it does the exact same thing. I dont believe it works in safe mode, but I could try that again. Any help on whats wrong, even help that would require it working in safe mode? Anything would be appreciated, as this has been going on for a while and has become a nuisance . Thank You in Advance

    1.Click Start | Run.

2.Enter gpedit.msc at the command line and click OK. This will open the Group Policy settings window shown in Figure B.

3.Select User Configuration | Administrative Templates | System | Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options | Remove Task Manager.

4.Double-click the Remove Task Manager option from the Group Policy menu.

5.You can then disable, enable, or set the policy to Not Configured.

6.Remember: Since the policy in question is called Remove Task Manager, by disabling the policy, you are actually enabling the Task Manager. Disabling or setting this policy to Not Configured should alleviate Main's problem.

    hope this helps

I tried this, and it said the file was not found. I attempted to search my computer for files and folders, and nothing came up again. Any suggestions, or should I just try to run a repair install?

Owen will decipher it for you as soon as he can.

In the meantime just for the Task Manager this is a possible fix:

    greetings .noob number 3.

it would be best to start your own thread even tho you have a similar problem.

but anyway; have you tried the various fixes outlined in this thread?

please post back in a new thread
