I have a new HP with win xp sp2 installed. I have autodesk land development and quickbooks installed. Everytime I open quickbooks, it will open but the windows install shield also starts up, trying to install my autocad(asking me to put in disk #1) which is already installed and working properly. This also happened on my older PC with other programs & autocad before I replaced it with this new HP. I believe this to be a common file or shared file problem of some sort. Any help correcting this would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Start/Run and type in:
msiexec /unregister [click ok]

Then Start/Run and type in:
msiexec /regserver [click ok]

I d/l the windows installer cleanup utility and ran it on my autocad app. That seemed to fix the problem without having to reinstall the autocad.
