I recently had to reinstall windows xp on my computer because of its slow speed. When the installation process got to the point where it restarts to finish the installation this message came up "couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)"then second line read "NTLDR: couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)". SOmetimes it says cant find "NTLDR". If anyone can help please try THANKS

i saw this suggestion in another thread; might be worth a try:

start computer with cd-rom support [with xp cd]enter the

recovery console and At the Command Prompt type the

following (where "X" is your CD-Rom drive letter)

allowing the files to overwrite the old files
COPY X:\i386\NTLDR C:
COPY X:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C:
