hi, i have just replaced the hdd in my brother in laws pc, installed windows xp home with sp2, we have managed to install some programs, like office, ghost recon, and rouge spear. but on installing hidden and dangerous 2 and some others it will allow the install to be done, but wont start the program, and comes back with errors saying files missing, he has phoned the h&d helpline and they told him to install the drivers for the motherboard, he has tried that but still no luck, any ideas?

not a lot of info i know but if you tell me what else you need to know i will get it from him.

can he identify the missing files? are they windows files or game files?

did this game work on the old drive?

hi, tryed installing it a few times and doing a repair, also manually deleted the folder from the drive and reinstalled.
the message is missing files, dont say what.
it worked on the old drive, without sp2, only reason sp2 is on there is becasue it came with the version of windows he bought.

ok managed to sort it windows was trying to autoinstall all the time, switched off auto play and it seems to be working. thanks for the help
