Question XP Limited Account simms problem.

I have installed sims 2, which works fine for me as the XP administrator , but won't run on my daughters limited account in XP. I bought this game for her and I don;t want here to run riot on the PC logged in as the administrator.
This sort of thing seems to be a problem with quite a few programmes.

    Any one got any ideas
    Thanks

    Thanks
But there was already a shared folder for the game in the shared folder.
the link you gave was mainly for XP profesionall and what it tells you about file sharing in the home edition is that its not very flexable.
what else could it be if its already set up in a shared folder?

Your question has been posted widely on the net.
In home there seem to be no easy solutions.

..., not sure which you have - Pro or Home - but Home is a bear. It is an
all-or-nothing situation where either the account is part of the
Administrator group or isn't. If the kids have a Limited account, they're
not going to have the rights to run the programs.
I know that this way sucks, but will allow you to run
    applications as the limited user.

    - Turn your childs account into an administrator.
    - Log in the account
    - Launch the game so it generates the required registry
entries. (Some games are dumb and don't create the
entries under the all users profile.)
    - Change the account back into a User
    - Log off.
    - Log on and try the game again.

Hi this has very easy solution but the parent needs to be around when the child is playing the game. When your daughter has logged into her account and wants to load up sims - i presume you have a icon on the desktop for sims? well if you dont make one by creating a shortcut.

Go to the icon on the desktop and right click the icon go down to RUN AS - which is the second option on the list.

Click this then it says what account do you want o use when running this programm click the bottom option the following user and put in your log in name and password or your wifes if she is at home when kiddy is playing and that then gives the child full rights to use the game no problems should occer.

THIS WILL ONLY GIVE THE CHILD ADMIN RIGHTS FOR THIS GAME ONLY

    Good Luck and happy playing.
