Sharing "Documents & Settings"

Sharing "Documents & Settings"
I have set up a MS home network which works fine between my Desktop & Laptop. I would like to be able to synchronise my MS Outlook folders but I cannot access my Documents & Settings subfolders where the .pst file is kept. It tells me access is denied although I have set the whole of the Laptop drive to be shared. Any solutions?

Go to Tools -> Folder Options
towards the bottom do you have a tick in "Use simple file sharing (recommended)" on both machines?
If so then you won't be able to share folders like you are obviously used to. Removing the simple file sharing makes Windows take notice of the settings you nake when sharing a folder.
When you've removed it on both you'll probably find that you still can't access it. This is because the machine on which you have the share must have an account with the exact same username and password you use to log onto the other machine with.

Have done as you suggest and (guess what) I still can't access these files remotely. Win XP Pro is set on both machines without password and with (as far as I can see) identical users. Is it possible to relocate the .pst file which is used for MS Outlook to a location which can be accessed? I have tried but the settings in Outlook seem fairly inflexible.
Thanks for you help so far.
