    XP Not Saving IE Settings

    Im having a problem with xp saving my IE settings. Every time i start up xp the settings revert back to proxy yet i dont use proxy i use auto detect, and it always does that. any suggestions.

    Found this post. Worth a try at least.

    "Do you have a proxy? Does it do anything?
    The section label is "Automatic configuration" so I think that normally
    you wouldn't want either of those boxes checked. As I understand it
    that feature is mainly used by corporate administrators who need a way
    to configure machines and enforce policy. I suppose an ISP might
    be tempted to use it too to try to force its best guess of optimal connection
    settings on its clients."

    um. lol

    is that supposed to tell me anything, i dont want the dang thing to use a proxy i want it to stay configured to auto like i mark it.

    i think the idea there was to leave no box checked; therefore no option would be considered.

    unless you are on a network where proxy settings are set by the admin.
