sounds like you found your problem.
If you dont find it in the fixer then we'll have to find another way to remove it.
Do you still have Office 2003? May need to try to reinstall it.
Was it an upgrade? Were you supposed to delete 97 first? or was it overwritable?

spud thanks for ur help also --i used the clean up installer utility from a web download --i dont have an original xp cd as it came pre installed with my computer
i noticed with i this utility i could remove office 2003 and the noise stiopped -- befoore that i cud not remove it from add/remove programmes

anyway it s sorted now --thanks alot

no probs i will lock this thread if you have any more problems please start a fresh thread
