Search Companion
Have lost the search companion after loading SP2. The search comes up blank and the menu buttons will not drop down except Folders which offers no help.
I am working with Netscape. com- Mozilla
Can you offer any help on this?
-
Are you refering to the search feature on the start menu or ???
-
If you are refering to the Search Companion in the Start Menu then:
Try this: Click Start | Run and type:
"regsvr32 /i C:\Windows\Srchasst\srchui.dll"
"regsvr32 /i urlmon"
"regsvr32 jscript" [this line is a tip from www.jsiinc.com site]
If this did not help,
1. Log on to the computer by using an account with administrator
permissions.
2. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%\inf, and then click OK.
3. Locate the Srchasst.inf file.
4. Right-click the Srchasst.inf file, and then click Install. This
reinstalls the files that Search Companion uses.
