XP Password !! HELP!!

    Exclamation XP Password !! HELP!!

    On another computer, this happened.

    -An update was applied to AVG antivirus, and the free version was renewed.
    Then it prompted to restart the computer, pushing yes, apon restart a windows logon screen appeared. (I dont use passwords, or the logon screen).
    So i pushed owner, and it said loading settings,,, but the siad logging off, and i tried pushing it again, but it said password:_____ . Therefore i am now locked out of my computer. I cannot begin to guess what that password is, and i need help somehow restoring windows back to the way i had it, without logging into windows, or somehow changing the password.

    DELL computer
    Windows XP
    1 User account
    USER: Owner, Password: (unknown)
    HELP!!! Please.

    did you try pressing Enter? If no password was set that shoud pass.

    ill look it over.. the login screen is the Win XP the new sceen. So i click the name and is shows the password slot..

    Does that pass. reset program allow me to reset the password using the demo?

    i know the one you mean that link will provide access to that screen from the dos prompt side of the computer if you know what i mean

    you can also try to get into safe mode and follow the following:

    Start, run, type in: control userpasswords2, hit enter.
    Uncheck: users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

    you may be lucky from the demo but i think that you will probably have to make a purchase but it depends on how much you have on your computer to make this a viable proposition

    ok, so i put in the Win XP CD into D: then insert the Key program, and from startup, it should boot on the CD? when i select that, or it will boot on the floppy?.
