    i dl'd the driver tried to run it .... i get an error heres what it says: setup is unable to installation languages in C:\Documents and Settings\Chris.MCOWNKJO-AFCC1F\Desktop\dl's\SETUP.LID File.

    Go back to Device Manager & right click on Intel(r) 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller

    Then choose update driver.

    Choose Let windows connect
    & then Install automatically

    if windows does not find an update then do it again with the following steps:
    first Send that downloaded driver to a Floppy A:
    then reopen the driver wizard &:

    Tell windows not to connect
    Install from a list
    Dont search I will choose
    Have disk
    insert floppy

    it says "windows could not find a better match for your hardware then the software you currently have installed i tried both methods -.- this is making me mad what can i do that will definately make my sound work ??

    Have you gone thru the troubleshooting process via the Device Manager?

    I know it's tedious but there doesn't seem to be a quick awnser to your problem.

    If you want a definitive quick fix you could get a PCI sound card.

    Yes did your old speakers work?........ It sounds like a sound card problem to me.......
