We've been having some problems with our XP Home on our Dell PC. More than once we've gotten the blue screen crash. The last time it paused long enough to read the details: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Suggests to "disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software." Also says, "Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing."

So what is this trying to tell us?

How convenient, I had this problem a few days ago, same error. What had happened was I installed some new drivers for my sound card and they were wrong/faulty and caused this. I did a System Restore to before I put them on and it was fixed. So, have you installed anything new lately? If so, do a System Restore to before it was installed.
