Question cannot locate "my computer etc... " from desktop

I cannot seem to locate " My Computer, System Restore etc... " from the desktop- I dont know if something has been deleted or what has happened. Also when I log on to the internet to play internet games, the list of games will come up -all the way to the actual game rooms -but will not let me enter any of the rooms to play.... it just like freezes up and does nothing until I finally end up having to hit "ctrl + alt + delete" . I figured if I could just get my System Restore located I could restore to an earlier date and fix the problem. Would somebody anybody please help me - I`m totally lost . I would appreciate any help I could get . thanx

can you get to restore this way?:

    start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore ?

or try to re=boot into safe mode: press F8 after bios clears & choose to boot "last good configuration" ?

    ps. forgot this:
Right-click on your desktop and select Properties > Desktop > Customize
Desktop > General ,and click on the My Computer icon and hit "Restore" and "OK".

If you go to your Control Panel and pick Performance and Maintenance, System Restore is in the upper-left-hand corner.

did you try that path thru start>programs>accessories>system tools>restore?

how about right clicking "my computer" in the start menu, then click properties.

if these things arn't working, can you describe what happens when you try?

when you right click on the desktop what happens?

did you try booting into safe mode? just btw: are you running home or pro?

just another possibility to get System Restore:

Start > Run > msconfig > Launch System Restore
