    loading problem

    Hi all,

Been having a little problem with my PC lately when trying to loads in software.

Have tried to load Microsoft 0ffice 97, A kids computer game, a supplied disk with a dig. camera i purchased, and another one i can't think of at the moment.

Normally any new software i load, as soon as it is in the drive it starts to run and load on screen automatically but with these last few that i have tried, nothing happens.

i do have things pop up like "C:\windows\system32\autoexec nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications, Choose 'close' to terinate the application".

And various sort of ones like that.

The answers i need might be in this forum but i have not seen so yet, so if some one can show me where to look or tell me what might be the problem, that would be great.

if any one needs more info to be able to help just e-mail me or reply.

    Many thanks again

    Blue....

is it just autorun that doesnt work? does the cd work if you go into my computer and run it from there? ( right click on the drive you have put the cd in and click auto run)

    also try this

    Problem
You start to install Office 97 and get the following message:

    C:\Windows\System32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
Choose 'Close' to terminate this application.

    Solution
If you run into this or similar "WOW DVM" errors when installing Office 97 into Windows NT it's because one of the following files is missing from \WINNT\System32:

    Config.nt
    Autoexec.nt
    Command.com

Check to see that these files are there. If not, expand them from the install CD and copy them to \WINNT\System32
They'll be in the \I386 folder as

    Config.nt_
    autoexec.nt_
    command.co_
From a command prompt window, type

    Expand /?
to get instructions for using Expand
