    XP backup utility

When I progress to the dialog box that asks what place to save backup to I choose drive D:\. The next prompt is,"type a name for this backup". At tis point in new box The backup file name could not be used. "D:\xxxx.bkf".
Please ensure it is a valid path and that you have sufficient access. I am logged as admin. So I think access is sufficient . What can I type in to name
the backup? I'll use any thing that works.
Than you for helping the ignorant one.

Your access won't be sufficient if it's a CDROM drive :-)

    It's not is it?

if you want to create a cd back-up you need to first back it up on your hard drive then write that to cd

you cannot create a back-up directly to cd.

you need to create it (for example) on your desktop (somewhere on your hard drive)

once that file is created you can then write it to a cd.
