    Frozen gifs

animated emoticons in yahoo messenger, and gifs on certain sites, are showed still on my comp. Win XP. I have various user logs, but this problem is on my log alone.

I can try removing my user, and reinstalling, but is there a less painful way out ?

Yes, I do cleanup regularly, and did so now too. No effect. The thing is, the problem is on my user log alone....

if you save your setting on your user and back up your files i would reinstall your user

backup up my documents, and created a new user, imported the docs. Gifs ran for a few days, and now again, they're frozen.

Yahoo messenger gifs are frozen, msn emotes work. I can view animated gifs using NON - Internet Explorer shell browsers only.

It seems to be happening only on the administrator user though, other limited users are not facing any such problems

have you checked under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia > Play Animations In Web Pages?

hey great, that solves the problem with IE .. thanks a lot !

And cool ! Yahoo Messenger is animated too !

Gee.. thanks .. but I do wonder .. how did it work initially and then go off ? I didn't change any settings !

Now, DAL gets linked at my blog.

well... not to raise any pre-mature sci-fi ethical questions...
but... it seems sometimes these things have a mind of their own
