Transfer to and from hard disc

Transfer to and from hard disc
I have been using Windows98 on my computer for about 4 years.Recently I had major mother board failure and everything froze up.Because I was going to upgrade soon anyway I bought a new computer.A friend of mine very kindly put my old hard disc into my new computer and it runs as a slave. The next day he went abroad for 2 months and I've come up with a few questions.
I'm using Windows XP on my new computer.
How do I get the address book from Outlook Express from the old disc onto the address book on the new computer? Also is it possible to transfer my e mail inbox ?
I've got 101 other questions but I'll leave it there for now.
Thanks

i think i am right in saying that you can not move folders from hdd to hdd by simply drag and clicking but you can do it by copy and paste if you need ahand to try this please get back to me

OR YOU CAN TRY
eopen up your address book in outlook exspress click on file then export then address book you can either save it in my documents and then burn it to disk to move it to another machine or you can save it on a nother hdd on the same machine by scrolling down the save in options to the destination disk then all you have to do is name the folder and click on save
i have listed various options for you and they should all work ok i hope!!
if you need any more help or if this problem is sorted could you please lret the forum know thanks

Hi Spud
When I click on f drive which is my old hard disc and open Outlook Express I get the address book from my new hard disc (c drive) even though when I click on 'properties' it says it's on the f drive.
I moved Outlook Express from f to c and it still opens up the new one.

from your post and how you have written it you seem to have done it backwards
i presume that you want f on to c in that case if you also try and import files on to c from f
have you many address to move?

select address book file to import from
look in outlook express
file name (blank)
file type address book files (*.wab)
what do I type in 'file name)
