Hi hoping someone can help me with this probably simple problem but an annoying problem for me.

Each time I start to defrag my pc I have an error coming up which says: Defragmentation of c: drive has been aborted due to inconsistences that were detected in the file system. Please run CHKDSK or SCANDISK on c: drive to repair these inconsistences then run disk defragmenter again.

Now this I have done and still have the same report back plus have done a system restore. I hope someone can help me resolve this.

It may help to check the disk for errors before defragging.
Go to my Computer, right click on the drive you are trying to defrag, choose properties, click the tools tab, and press the error check button. When that process completes, try the defrag again. also try defragging in safe mode.
