    Could someone please help me?

I posted in the topic SoundCard!! some information because my computer is all messed up and the most important thing is that my sound isn't working.. But no-one seems to read it. I really need your help!

I read the topic: Soundcard!! and downloaded AIDA32, to see what type of Soundcard I've got. It's a: SiS-7012 Audio Device

So I went looking on Google for <Name soundcard> + Driver and downloaded one. But while installing it occured an error, and setup cancelled automaticly..
I tried installing some other drivers but none of it did its job.

Can someone please help me with this issue? Maybe someones knows a working driver?

try getting your mobo sound drivers,
the most common mobo audio driver is here

also try here for your sound card drivers.

Dont quite understand what you're trying to say, but I'll download the first one and see what happens.. If nothing helps, I'll download the second one. Thnx

Is the Yamaha card something you added to the machine?
Have you checked its' status in the Device Manager?
Start > Run > devmgmt.msc > sound, video, game controlers
You can try to update drivers there. Click on the device (card) and follow drivers...
If it's an add on card, have you tried removing it? As you probably have an onboard chip.

    The file you speak of is probably a .zip file which is sent compressed & needs decompressing. With XP you can download to your desktop then right click and choose open with; then zip or extract (I forget what they call it) or you can use a 3rd party zip tool. Here is a free for personal use one;

    jephree,
Let me see if I can be fairly brief,
I went start, run, perf and maint, system, dev manager, sound video game cont, then clicked on yamaha audio device,
the Yamaha audio device was on the system when purchased. when i go to device properties it indicates that the device is enabled and running. but no sound and when a DVD is attempted it gives an error message...also asks me if I want to update the driver? finally called Toshiba and yes they are having problems with that sound card...
should i consider replacing it ? A sound card can't be downloaded can it? isn't it hardware and the drivers for it software. you can tell I'm a rookie but trying to "get it"

I probably got ahead of myself on asking about the decompressing of files etc. I was thinking i could download something to get my sound to work instead of trouble shooting my current set-up.
