My floppy has no error messages but it will not open a disk. What should I do first?

look at the Device Manager:

Start > Run > (type in) devmgmt.msc

look for Floppy; click it to open & see if there are errors.

what happens when you click it under My Computer?

Nothing? no error? no message? nothing at all?

Does the light flash?

Floppy working now. Thanks for your help. It seams I had a bunch of bad disk. I through them out and it's writting and reading OK. Thanks again for your help.
