    Unable Format C Drive

    ok so my computer has alot of stuff on it that i dont want, so i tried to format, i went to start, my comptuer, local disk c, right click and go to format, a window pops up and i press enable quick format and another window pops up saying it will erase everything so i click ok and then it says windows was unable to format

    does anyone know y cause i dont wanna pay 100 bucks to get my computer reformatted

    You cant reformat C drive from windows cause windows is runnng. You need to do it from the command prompt. Read here http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=313348

    basically all i want is to know how to format my computer without removing the video card and all that

    If you go half way down the link page I gave you it tells you how to reformat your drive and reinstall XP. You do not have to take anything out of the computer to format!

    ya but that removes everything correct?
    such as my vid card, dvd drive, cd burner, interbet connection and everything that makes this computer run.
    right?

    Correct. You said you wanted to format C drive, thats what formatting the drive does.
    If you simply want to clean out unwanted programs go to the control panel add/remove and remove the ones you dont want. Delete old documents and pics etc. You cant just format the drive and leave XP and all your settings, drivers etc on there.
