Hopefully a simple problem here. Whenever Windows automatically downloads any updates, my internet speed becomes severely limited until the download is done. I am using Vista and have a DSL connection. Even trying to get Google to come up can be a challenge at times. Ideas or advice?
That may not be completely unusual - especially in my dual core CPU scenario. My DSL measures around 6.4Mbps ( Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test ) and I observed that very update issue yesterday on my dual core PC (Intel E5400). Both CPU cores were running 90-100% for an extended period (several minutes) as measured by the following tool:Even trying to get Google to come up can be a challenge at times. Ideas or advice?
Windows Gadgets - All CPU Meter
Not much else (serious work) can be done when and while that is going on!!!!! At least I could see what was happening and see when the update storm ceased.
