Registry file failure
Stop: c0000218 {registry file failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent or not writable.
Is the message I get when turning on the computer. Whenever I try an option on the black screen it returns to the black screen with the options.
I have a Asus Eee PC 1000HD running Windows Vista notebook computer. I do not have a reboot disk or the windows vista disk etc.
What to do to fix the problem?

Google shows you are not alone.
Sadly, a corrupt Registry can be caused by several things, but usually are the result of the system freezing, often due to a sudden power failure. It often results in requiring a repair or reinstall of Windows - either from a hidden partition on the hard drive, or via an install disk. Check your manual for instructions for a "factory restore". If there are any files on the HD you need, you might pull the HD and install it in an enclosure attached to another computer - them copy them off.
I suggest you browse through those Google hits and see what you are up against. Since you are stuck at the early boot menu page and can't get past that, and you don't have the disks, I am afraid it does not look good. You might contact ASUS for this and see about them sending you a Windows disk - hopefully for no more than a small shipping and handling charge.
